So Fresh and So Clean

This morning after waking up Isla saw Scooter "cleaning" himself on the couch. She pointed to him inquisitively and I explained that "Dogs use their tongues to clean themselves."

After this explanation she proceeded to attempt this on herself... No pictures were taken, but it was quite comical.

Isla's Second Birthday

Wow, sad of me not even to update on Isla's second birthday!!

Her birthday went awesome (on May 12)! Had a whole slew of people here to celebrate and I thank every one of them for the good time and great gifts! All is appreciated!

It of course was Dr Suess Themed. My sister made the cake, my neighbors and best friends helped me with the food and prep of the party, and there was lots of other help from my family as well!

Isla loved the cake part...

was kinda interested in the gift part...

but LOVED the bouncy house part! :-D

Thanks to everyone who made it a success!

Potty Training Progress

Ever since we began the potty training process on 4.23 we have had so much success! We never pushed, but always "reminded" her through the day. We at first were using diapers... realized she was too comfortable in them and switched to pull-ups (Friday 4.27). Immediately when she peed in her pull-up we changed her, so she would get used to always being dry.

Saturday she went on the potty all on her own after a bath and from then on we kept the pull-ups off of her. Now, as long as we keep the pull-ups off of her, she goes every time in the potty! Both #1 and #2! ;-)

Today I'm testing out no pull-up at nap time. See if she holds it. I've got "soaker pads" below her, just in case.

I'm such a proud mommy! Needless to say, I've been tearing up - a lot!

Poopy On the Potty

I'm a couple days late blogging this... But here goes!

Isla started showing lots of interest in using the potty on Sunday (4.23.12)... So we brought out the "Ducky Potty" for her to give it a whirl.

Sunday there was little progress, but definite interest. Monday (4.24) was fun, however! I saw/heard her grunting in her diaper so I asked her to poop on the potty... And She DID! :-)

But since then she has basically only sat on it 4 times with no further success. HA. Go figure. ;-) I'm still VERY proud!

New Undies! Spongebob. :-)

Couldn't resist blogging about this (and then pinning it again).

This site is the best for finding Hobby Vinyl for making fun wall decals on your own. For wayyy less than in stores like Michaels.

The customer service is great, too. Always a plus, right?

Here's the web address (directly to the hobby vinyl for your convenience): http://www.signwarehouse.com/c-vinyl-supplies-HOBBY-VINYL.html

A Poop Story

Had to blog this milestone!

Yesterday Isla told me that she had to poop!

First she says "Mama!" and points to her butt. So I ask "did you poop?" She says "Yah." I check her and there's no poop.. So then I ask "Are you POOPING?" and she says "Yah!"

Two minutes later I smell her... She pooped!

I'm such a proud mommy. Looks like we're getting closer to potty training time! OHHH BOY!
