First thing's first - we bought a new home! We began looking because there were so many great homes on the market and the interest rates were remarkable! Once we got pre-approved we called up our friend and realtor Melissa to start our search.
We looked at quite a few, but after heartbreaks and let downs we finally found THE ONE in Belle Plaine! It was a blank slate - which is great for Rich and I, because we really wanted to add our own touches. With an unfinished basement, bathroom and laundry roughed in, this was the perfect find. Unfinished is 1300 sq ft for $145K.
It might be further away from friends and family, but we are ready to continue our life and meet new friends in a beautiful new area!
So far we have painted the Kitchen and Living areas. There are some touchups needed, but it's looking fantastic! We picked up an electric fireplace to add to the ambiance of the living room - and boy does it look great! Beautiful old-fashioned design to mix with the modern elements of the home. We got all new furniture for living and dining and we are so pleased!
We are still working on unpacking (we moved in the weekend before Christmas). That is definitely taking a lifetime!
To go with the new house, Rich got a new job! He is working for Buhler Group Inc out of Plymouth, but he mostly travels. He is a Customer Service Engineer and is really enjoying it!

Now that things are calming down....
I can finally post again!
Usually I like to post when we've had an adventure or Isla has hit a milestone... It's been a while since she has hit one, so I will just let everyone know what is going on with her now.
Miss Isla Bee is so active! She isn't crawling yet and she has no teeth, but she is rolling and flipping! I have a feeling she is going to roll to where she wants to go instead of crawl. It doesn't matter to me if she doesn't crawl!
She is learning "Peek-a-boo!" right now and has been waving "HI!" for a while. She goes "Haaaa," which I believe is her way of saying Hi. :-)
She likes her toys, but loves dog toys more... Typical. ;-)
She is back on regular formula and is eating baby food three times a day. She likes to eat cheerios, but hasn't quite figured out how to get them to her own mouth. But she's working on it!
She's starting to make "Da" sounds - just waiting on "Ma." ;-)

Cough, Cough, Sniffle, Sniffle.
Yes, it’s been a while. Not much going on besides working, being sick and house hunting! I will, however, update you on the house hunting part.
Two weeks ago we found some houses that we loved in the Mound and Jordan areas. We looked at them all and narrowed it down to two. One in Mound, and one in Jordan. The house in Jordan was too good to pass up… a lot of house for the price. We put in an offer, but were beat by another.
So this last weekend we went house hunting again, but a little further out – in Belle Plaine. All three houses in the area were great! But each one got better as the day went on. We finally ended up at house three, listed for $149,900. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an unfinished basement – this is Rich’s dream home! The only major appliances needed are a garage opener, washer, and dryer. It will also need a deck.
We knew that there were others looking at the house, so we decided to make an offer. It is a short sale, so it is already an amazing deal. We offered $152,300 initially. Then we found out there was someone else making an offer… So we put an even better foot forward and offered $155,000… After that our offer was accepted!
Now we are just waiting on the loan process to finish up – and hopefully we’ll be able to call it home!
Isla Notes: She is sitting up on her own! :-D She’s still a little “shaky” but it won’t be long before she’s a professional sitter!
I also have some great news about Rich, but I will wait to share that! ;-)

That's not a waterfall... That's a WATERFALL! ;-)

It's been 9 days since my last post! Holy smokes!
Well, besides enjoying a fun girls weekend in Duluth last week, not much has been going on! We did some hiking at Gooseberry Falls (yes, I was in flip flops. My excuse is I wear work shoes all week long, my toes needed to come out of retirement!) It was more of a casual hike... Enjoying some beautiful views. We ate a delicious lunch and enjoyed a beer (or few) at Black Woods Bar and Grill (a tradition for Rich and Me when in the area - so I shared the goodness with my gals). Then got ready for a night on the town... which turned out to be one bar and Pizza Luce (holy garlic, Batman!)! GREAT TIME!
Isla is doing very well with her nightly eat, play, sleep schedule... Occasionally rolling over when she feels like it... Enjoying her new pink, rotating jumper roo...
Everything is peachy, including........
HOUSE HUNTING! Yup, Rich and I have officially taken that step to purchasing our second home! We are looking more in the Jordan area (beautiful of course)! Close enough to work, but far enough from hussle and bussle! And we have family there - Mike, Elena, and Joey!
Our beautiful and talented Realtor Melissa is being so patient and awesome with us! Saturday we are doing our BIG house walk-through tour... I believe a total of 6? Or close to that. We are looking at one not in Jordan, however... A cute little rambler in Mound. As you can see we are very excited!
Rich and I are looking forward to our BBQ dinner with Jacquie and Todd tomorrow. They are our super fabulous daycare providers by day, and fantastic friends by night!

Run Swords Run!
This last weekend was very monumental! My husband, Richard, ran his very first MARATHON (26.2 miles)!
Each year his dad Dick, sister Jaclyn, cousin Leah, and really close friend Melissa all run the Twin Cities Marathon. This year he decided to run it with them (checking it off his bucket list)!
During the race, Jaclyn's boyfriend Matt, their mother Vicki, Isla, and I drove from point to point to cheer them on. Isla wasn't enjoying all of the driving, but she was SO GOOD when we were out of the car! ;-)
We saw Mel and Leah run by us at the start, but not the Swords group. We did see them at the 5 mile mark - they just didn't see us! Then we had a good amount of time until the our next mark, so we enjoyed a cup of coffee at this super cute cafe near Hiawatha. After our coffee we went to the 15 mile mark to meet them. They looked GREAT! Jaclyn's knees were hurting her, but she did so well!! We gave them some hugs, kisses, and some sports beans and they were on their way!
From there we had to hop on the highway and head to the finish line at the state capitol. We met up with Leah and Mel who had finished already, and cheered on the remaining runners coming in.
It was so exciting to see Rich, Jaclyn, and Dick run by us at the finish! They looked great and happy to be done, too!
Rich promises to run one last marathon with his sister Becca - but then he's done (or so he says)! We'll see! ;-)
